Dr. Azharian and the staff of Magnolia Plastic Surgery Center proudly offer the body lift to our patients. Dr. Azharian developed and perfected this technique over the course of ten years to offer her patients an alternative to traditional tummy tucks. Tummy tucks are typically recommended to patients who have fat above and below their bellybuttons or only below their bellybuttons. Many of our patients, however, have fat only above their bellybuttons, an area that is not addressed by traditional tummy tuck procedures.

During your consultation appointment, Dr. Azharian determines the best treatment plan to give you the flat, toned stomach that you want. You may be a good candidate for the body lift procedure if you
- Have localized areas of fat on your upper abdomen
- Have excess or loose skin on your upper abdominal area
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle, including maintaining a healthy weight through proper diet and exercise, as well as being a non-smoker

What Is the Process for a Body Lift?
As the innovative mind behind the body lift, Dr. Azharian has perfected the procedure to help her patients feel more confident about their midsections. General anesthesia or intravenous sedation is administered to help you remain comfortable. For your body lift, a small incision is made in the crease just under your breast. The placement of the incision helps to hide the scar when you fully heal. Excess skin is removed, and Dr. Azharian tightens the skin, muscles, and other tissues. Dissolvable sutures may be used to hold the tissues in place. The primary incision is closed, and a bandage is placed over the incision. You may be required to wear a special compression garment during your recovery period.
