The many benefits and uses of dermal fillers in Tampa and Wesley Chapel, FL

dermal-fillers-tampaUsed to restore lost volume and smooth out lines, Tampa dermal fillers are a popular way to rejuvenate the face and hands.

They are gel-like substances that are injected into different areas to smooth lines, wrinkles and deeper folds. They can also be used to restore volume where tissues have degenerated with age, or where fat loss has caused cheeks to collapse.

Fillers are can also be used to fill in pockmarks and acne scars, contour or reshape facial features, add volume to lips and cheeks, reshape the nose, reduce nasolabial folds, fill under the eyes and rejuvenate the hands.

At Magnolia Plastic Surgery Center we use hyaluronic acid fillers.

Hyaluronic acid, commonly known as Juvederm, is used for treating facial wrinkles and folds. The hyaluronic acid contained in fillers is called non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid (NASHA) – because it’s not derived from animal sources. Naturally present in the skin, hyaluronic acid preserves moisture levels in the skin and boosts tone.

When injected into wrinkled skin it adds fullness and reduces the prominence of wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid also attracts and binds water, which helps maintain fullness in the area of injection.

They are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers. As you get older, your face loses its shape. Hyaluronic acid is what gives skin volume and fullness and provides a smoother contour to the face. NASHA is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.

It’s also a powerful moisturizing agent, which gradually decreases with age. As a result, the skin dries out, becomes fragile and wrinkles appear. The tissue progressively sags and the face becomes hollow. When injected into the dermis hyaluronic acid combats this deficiency.

Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of six to eight months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. There’s no skin test required before treatment.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be used in the face, lips and hands. Results are immediate but tend to look even better a few days later.
